Sunday August 2, 2009

Today after breakfast at the motel we headed out of town and drove around Lake Samish. There are many homes right on the lake and not a lot of public areas to stop at, but we took a couple of pictures and headed on south. We called Len and Shirley around 1 p.m. and Len came and got us when we got into Renton as their home is difficult to find when you don't know where you're going. We had a nice visit with them and Cindy was there helping clean house and take care of the yard. She looks wonderful!!! Everything in Washington is brown due to the heat wave....I have never seen it so brown....it looks like California beginning in May and the rest of the summer. It was hot there as well...about 93 when we left at 5 p.m. Cindy lead us out to highway 5 and we proceeded south and took off toward the east and down highway 7. Stopped at an Arby's for dinner and are now at the motel in the town of Morton. En route we stopped and took a picture of this cute little "1906 Evangelical Lutheran Kirche." It was so cute. I would have liked to go inside and see what it looked like. They have breakfast here at the motel as well up until 10:30 a.m., so we don't have to leap out of bed in a hurry to get there. Today is cousin Judys birthday and we called her and left a message, but she must have been out celebrating. Good for her! You know that if you click on the pictures in this blog they get bigger and you can see the scenery better.
We love you all, m and d, gpa and gma, ggpa and ggma.
