After leaving the mission we had breakfast at a small restaurant in Solvang. We had what's called an international plate--French toast, Danish Crepe, and German Abliskiver (A small round baked pancake, somewhat like Mrs. Brown's hush puppies. Dr. Boysen used to make them and bring them in to us nurses who had to work on Christmas Day. There is a special baking iron plate used to make them. Afterwards we stopped at Radio Shack to have the lady fix our cell phone which wasn't working. She just took the battery out and put it back in and WALA! working again!!! then off we went to Santa Barbara to the Reagan Ranch Center right down town. We had a young lady from Danville who belongs to the Young Americas Foundation give us a private tour as the building was closed today. What a great tribute to our President! There are his letters to a fan club president who corresponded with him for 52 years....Lorraine....and various and sundry other artifacts. They would not allow photos inside, so all we got there was the outside of the building and a photo of the Berlin Wall piece which is on display there.
