Well, today we stayed busy even though this is our second day here. The motel served a great breakfast...just about anything you wanted including biscuits and gravy which was very very tasty. After that we called a doctor to see if we could get Ed's blood work done for his coumadin. We did and got an appointment which cost us $23.00. Now mind you, we pay $25 or $30 to get the same lab work done at home through Kaiser. Can you believe that? Plus, the nurse drew the blood and put such a nice tight bandage on his arm that you can barely even see where she stuck him. Then we went shopping at Rite Aid and went and got the tire put on the car. Back to the motel for a rest because it is very hot out there and then out to dinner at Arbys. In the interim we drove around town and looked at the sights which I am posting here...beautiful old southern homes. I can see why people are enamoured with the south. The lady at Rite Aid went to so much trouble to get us money we almost felt like we needed to tip her. The bank would not give Ed any money because he was from out of state. Never ran onto that before except in Canada. DEARME!!!!
We got a card for the policman who changed the tire for Ed and will get that sent when we get a stamp. It was a productive day and all is well. It cooled off this evening...it's 93. When we got back to the motel Ed's INR result for his coumadin was back. Is that great or what?
I just looked up Newsite Alabama on the web and clicked on their police department. Well, my goodness sakes...it was the Chief of Police, whose photo is on the web site, who helped Ed change the blown tire yesterday. You can look him up too if you want......Newsite Alabama, click on Departments, then on police department. His photo is right there. WOW. I am impressed.
