Today we left Galveston at 9:30 it was 93 degrees and the heat index was 120. Talk about muggy! We traveled along the coast on the gulf of Mexico for almost the entire day, through the Louisiana bayous and post Katrina area. the devastation is still evident in many areas but they are building new homes all along the way. You can see where whole buildings were taken out. We're in Lafayette Louisiana tonight. It's still hot. But our room is lovely. We had Popeyes Chicken tonight and the service is about what you'd expect.....like the one in Pittsburg. Lousy.
